Educational Qualifications

  • Individuals must have a first-class BE/BTech or similar qualifying degree with an aggregate minimum of 65% marks or a CGPA of 6.84 out of 10. (average of all semesters).
  • Individuals who are awaiting the results of their seventh and eighth semesters may apply if their cumulative mark in the remaining semesters is 65% or higher or their CGPA/CPI is 6.84 or higher.
  • Individuals with diplomas and BE/BTech (lateral entrance) degrees with just six semesters are also eligible if they completed their degree in first class with an aggregate minimum of 65% marks or a CGPA of 6.84 on a scale of 10.
  • Candidates who are Associate Members of the Institution of Engineers (AMIE) are eligible to apply to ISRO, however, some criteria may disqualify them, thus persons must verify with the recruiting authorities before applying.
  • Individuals who have completed or are pursuing ME/MTech must have completed their BE/BTech in first class with an aggregate minimum of 65% marks or a CGPA of 6.84 out of 10.
  • Individuals who have completed the combined BE/BTech/ME/MTech programme are eligible to apply for the ISRO recruitment test if they can provide their graduation certificate for BE/BTech separately in first class with an aggregate minimum of 65% marks or CGPA of 6.84 out of 10.
  • Individuals with part-time BE/BTech degrees are eligible to apply if they have a degree in BE/BTech in first class with an aggregate minimum of 65% marks or a CGPA of 6.84 out of 10.
  • Individuals who obtained their BE/BTech degree through correspondence are unable to apply.
  • Engineers with a specialised degree in electrical and electronics are qualified to apply for the position of Scientist/Engineer-SC. Electrical.
  • Engineering degree holders in the mechanical discipline are eligible to apply for the position of Scientist/Engineer-SC (Refrigeration and Air-conditioning) if they studied air conditioning and refrigeration or allied subjects as electives or as core subjects in any of the semesters and passed their degree in first class with an aggregate minimum of 65% marks or CGPA 6.84 out of 10.
