How do I get into the GHD graduate program?

Steven Nield

Graduate Recruitment Lead

Answer: Getting into the GHD graduate program is a little easier and a little bit more difficult at the same time.

The first thing to make sure is that you've actually put in an application. People often ask if they can just get a job straight away or if there are other back doors into GHD. The answer to these questions however are always no. GHD assesses everyone on their merits, so all students need to apply via the same application process.

To stand out in your application, you really need to demonstrate why you're a good fit for the business. A good way to do this is to think about what you're bringing from a technical capability to the role, whether that's as an engineer, scientist, project manager or digital advisor. You should think about that technical skill set you can bring and how that fits into the role. Don't be afraid to reach out to us and ask a question if you're not 100% clear on how that works.

Make sure you articulate what you bring to the role in your application. It should be referenced in your cover letter and it should be visible in your CV. It should be easier for the recruiter to see your extra curricular activities, your practical work experience and paid experience. You shouldn't redact your CV too much; all of this information helps us get a better understanding of whether you could be a good fit so we can progress you next to the next stage!

Applications to the GHD graduate program typically open in March each year for the following years intake.
